Monday Morning Thoughts

Just sitting here in my office, sipping coffee, trying to get the work week started. There's a lot rattling around in this brain of mine (contrary to popular belief). Let's hope this doesn't get too long.
  • I love attending these Chapter 2 group fellowships. I keep meeting more and more people who are excited about buying in to the vision of reaching the 60,000.
  • For both of my fans...I'm in another drama this Sunday. Man, I need to get back to preaching!!!
  • I was amazed how many people talked to me and Ed about Speedy Pig BBQ after the reference in his message. For those who are wondering: Yes, the ribs are that good. And yes, you must go!!
  • This is the week my wife and I will be doing our family conference to decide on our pledge for Chapter 2. And I'm actually getting kind of excited about it. It's a scary thing to step out in faith but I'm starting to learn more about what the Bible means when it talks about cheerful giving. We get to be a part of changing the spiritual history of our county. It doesn't get much better than that.
  • This week I'm starting work on the first message in our next series "What's Up With That?" We're going to talk about some of the "weird religious" stuff we do in church and explain what it's all about. Stuff like baptism, communion, and worship. It'll be real good stuff for you to invite unchurched friends to.
  • I've been thinking about Halloween this Wednesday. How many times do my unchurched neighbors walk up to my front door and ring the bell? What can I do to represent Christ to them? Can I be another link in the chain of helping them come to know Him? If God gives me an opportunity in the conversation, could I make an invitation? I'm praying for that. How about you?
  • And of course: HOW 'BOUT THEM DAWGS!?!?!

So, where do I sign up to become one of your official "fans"????

It's a very long and arduous process. Usually bribes are involved.

I like it when you're in the dramas and when Ed sings. I must be weird.
