Porn Sunday
I've been hard at work putting the finishing touches on Sunday's message about pornography. All I can say about Sunday is - Don't miss it. Not because the message will be all that profound (it's me, remember?). But mainly because it's just so necessary. Ed and I received a letter at the office just a few weeks ago from a man describing how he will be spending this Thanksgiving away from his kids for the first time in his life. All because he allowed porn to wreck his marriage. Recently, I heard Craig Gross who is the founder of a ministry called XXXChurch, which has helped thousands of people with porn addictions, say this: "I have never seen a single person stop their porn habit all by themselves. Not one. You can not do this alone." That's where we're headed in this service. As always, we've got great video, music and drama that will "uncross peoples' arms." If you don't know what that means, click here and here. And by the end, we're praying that before porn wrecks another life in our church, some folks will stop trying to go it alone and come into the light and find hope and forgiveness. So like we've been saying this entire series: invite, invite, invite. You won't regret making the invitation. I'm looking forward to what God's going to do this Sunday. But keep praying. I'm still nervous!

Jason, you will be awesome. You always are!! God speaks through you every time you preach (and hits some of us really hard exactly where we need it!)
God Bless you!
Dear Jason, I am one of the people that wrote you before your sermon and you had quoted me a bit in your talk. I have to tell you, that you taught me something very important. I have been inundated with lies about porn my whole life and just didn't know it. You are right in "the truth will set you free". I know that I personally can not keep my husband from watching porn. I CAN pray about it and now, I believe I can also have a meaningful dialog with him. I wish he was in church to hear this sermon, but alas he was not. Thanks for sharing God's truth, it meant a lot to me. I am sure that God will be faithful in helping us grow toward a more healthy and happy relationship. Thank you!
And you were awesome ! You did a great job.
The thanks goes to you (2nd anonymous commenter) for sharing your story. It definitely made an impression when I read it. I hope you and your husband find connection and healing. If myself or the church can help, please contact us.
