Monday Morning Thoughts

  • More baptisms yesterday. I got to perform one at 2nd service for a young lady who's been seeking God at CCC for about a year. She has a neat story of how God is working in her life. I also got to witness 3 baptisms at our student ministry last night. Two more were performed right after the noon service. There's just nothing like seeing lives change!!!!
  • If you've got a student who attends CCC student ministries, let me just tell you they are experiencing the best youth ministry program anywhere around! Last night I saw so many incredible adult leaders delving into the lives of students in small groups and growing them to full devotion. I saw THE most awesome band leading enthusiastic, God-focused worship. I heard our esteemed director of student ministry, Kelley Davenport, deliver a great message. I'm just proud of the job that team is doing and I wanted to brag a little.
  • Yesterday was unique for me. I got to come to church like a normal person. I spent the morning with my wife getting my kids up and ready and we all drove to church together. I also enjoyed the service from a seat in the crowd. The coolest thing was that I was able to meet some new folks sitting around me. One was here for the very first time. When Bill mentioned in the welcome that we're a church for folks who don't like church, she smiled and nodded her head. It was cool.
  • I blow raspberries on my kids' cheeks all the time. Does that make me weird? (if you didn't see the video yesterday, that makes no sense to you)
