Weekend Update

• I had a blast teaching on Sunday and wrapping up Alternate Endings. I was floored throughout the entire series at how many conversations I had with people who are right in the middle of alternate endings. Yesterday was no different. Several of you told me about "next right things" that you had to go home and do. One woman walked up and said, "My next right thing is to forgive my ex-husband." That is truly a God thing.
• Vision Day is only 6 days away!!! I love Vision Day. The message is always the same but I never get tired of hearing about our mission to reach people who hate church and introduce them to Jesus. Don't miss it. You're going to hear the latest news on our 2nd campus in Madras and how we can help them get things kicked off.
• I have an idea. Blitz Ed's email and tell him how much you love my mad drawing skills. He's still making fun of me this morning.
• Cool kid moment from yesterday: My 4 year old, Abby was playing in the living room and she yelled to me in the kitchen - "Daddy, guess what we learned about at church today in my class?...Grace!!!!" I asked her to explain it to me and she said, "You can be nice and share like when somebody wants to play with your toys and you let them." Parents, we are so blessed to have a CommunityKids team that partners with us to grow our kids into fully devoted followers!
• I'm sitting in my office listening to Mike Parker rehearse the prelude for this Sunday. What would that be, you ask?? Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix!!!!! Show up early this weekend and rock out with us!!
• Just had a meeting with our student ministry leader, Kelley Davenport. I'm so excited about a new idea his team's getting ready to unleash next month called Hype United. It's an off-campus outreach event that will bring students together from every CCC location as a kickoff for every teaching series. I believe it's going to change the face of youth ministry all over our county. Stay tuned.
