- Man, I had such a great time today getting to know the members of our world religions panel. They were as interested to hear about our beliefs as we were to hear theirs. My favorite part of the day was the time we spent in between services sharing stories and asking questions of one another. I found out so many interesting things that would take me too long to write about. One especially memorable moment was trying to explain to them the whole "multi-site strategy" and how our video venue works. None of them had ever heard of anything like it. But they were so supportive and encouraging.
- Another thing that stuck out for me as we went through all 3 services...There were 2 words that I never heard spoken from any of our guests concerning their religion. And these were 2 of the main words that I used to describe Christianity - relationship and grace. No other worldview or faith system leads us towards a living, growing relationship with God and no other faith can offer grace. That's why I love and follow Jesus.
- I know some of you were thinking Ed can't possibly be that bad at pronouncing names...oh yes he can.
- I'm always proud of our CCC family when we have guests who are not "one of us". They always respond to them with such graciousness and acceptance. I saw and heard so many people go out of their way to make our guests feel welcome today. They were blown away by your hospitality and I really think they saw Jesus in you guys. Way to go!
- Ed finishes up God For Dummies next week. We've got an awesome worship moment planned that I think is going to be really powerful.
- If you've missed our usual off the wall CCC humor in the services lately, all I can say is: Just wait. In 2 weeks we start a new series and it will be back in full force. (well, maybe not if you typically don't get our sense of humor...but I guarantee me and about 8 other people will think it's funny) If you were there today you saw the new teaser video. We'll have another one for you next Sunday.
- I have to say after a long day at church, nothing brings you back down to reality than being schooled by your 4 year old in 2 straight games of Go Fish. I thought the game was just blind luck but I gotta admit...the girl's just good.

Hey Jason,
I made a new friend on Sunday--Huma--she and her family are so nice! All of the people were nice and I thanked them all for sharing with us. I asked her if she knew Cat Stevens, and she said she did!!I had a huge crush on him in high school. Anyway, I e-mailed Becky Martin to ask if I could share the CD Huma gave me by Yousef Islam (aka Cat stevens)--as yet I have not gotten a response from her. It is an AWSOME CD.
Until the time when everyone will have the opportunity to acknowledge the Gospel Truth of Jesus, we all need to COMMUNICATE with each other, don't you think?
Relationship and grace were certainly lacking in the things spoken by the guests last week.
No other world religion can make the statement of John 3:16:
16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 (NASB)+
Their god does not work that way.
I have always asked people that claim all religions are the same whether they have actually made a comparison. The usual answer has been no.
Rob Bell has a good message from a current series in Philippians. In it he addresses this whole issue. His comment is that those who claim all religions are different paths up the same mountain must have some position where they can see all of those paths at once. God is the only one with that kind of complete overview and He has spoken in the Bible through Christ that there is only one way to the Father.
