Weekend Update

  • It was a quintessential (big word, huh?) Collins weekend. Lots of family which, of course, means lots of food. If you don't know my family, let's just say that it's a mystery why we all aren't 500 pounds each.
  • Watched my brother-in-law cross the finish line in a bike ride to raise money for a cure for diabetes. Several of my family members deal with that disease. It was a cool event and an awesome cause.
  • It was one of those very rare Sundays when I got to actually attend church with my family. Pastors don't get that very often. I even checked my girls into Children's Ministry. I always love getting to lock eyes with those folks and personally thank them for the amazing job they do with my kids.
  • I love the job Ed's doing with the messages in the Mama And Them series. He just keeps hitting the bullseye. Two more weeks to go and they just keep getting better.
  • Mike's in his office next door to me right now rehearsing Sunday's prelude. Get ready all you 80s fans....it's Journey!!!!
  • I'm busy writing some of the messages for our next series starting in June. I know a lot of people miss Sundays in the summer but we're not taking a break from serving up some topics that everybody needs to hear. Trust me. The summer teaching series is going to be a vital one for all of us.
  • If you volunteer on any team at CCC, don't forget to be here for the annual volunteer appreciation banquet. It's Sunday June 8 @ 6pm in the auditorium of the Sharpsburg campus. There's always good food, good fun, and entertainment. (notice I didn't say it was good)
  • On Tuesday, the most awesome band in the known world releases their latest CD!!!! Don't even bother arguing with me on that.
