Weekend Update

  • Loved the way Ed ended the "In The Groove" series yesterday. One of the most practical messages I've ever heard. It reminded me that spiritual growth isn't really that hard. I need to stop comparing myself to other people. Just follow Jesus from where you are to where He is leading you.
  • We had some friends with us visiting church on Sunday. It's amazing how your view of CCC changes when you have someone new with you. You see everything in a different light. If you've never brought someone to church with you who's never been, you are missing out!!
  • It's hard to be a Braves fan these days. Sort of reminds me of the 80s.
  • School starts back next week. That means vacations are done and people will start coming back to church! It's a great time to invite friends.
  • My wife goes back to work this week too. Gonna miss having her home every day.
  • I hear a lot of buzz from people excited about the Mouthwash series. Me too.
  • Did you know our own Mike Parker wrote that song at the end of the service yesterday? Really, really good!
  • Time is running out. Have you signed up for a small group yet?
  • Got to attend our first Discovery Class at the Madras campus Sunday night. Every time I go there I get vision pumped into me. These are the people God had in mind when He told us to go reach the 60,000. When you shake hands with them and look them in the eyes it changes everything. I love this church and I love what God's doing through us.
  • Ed's mentioned this on his blog already but there are some really cool possibilities ahead for CCC. Just pray and ask God to keep leading and for us to follow real close.
