Weekend Update

  • I'm so excited to be starting the Mouthwash series. We heard lots of great feedback from people that God spoke to.
  • Noticed that attendance was back up from the summer weeks. 10:30 at Sharpsburg was packed.
  • Loved seeing people walking around with "Beware of my mouth" stickers on. Did anybody wear theirs out to a restaurant or something? I'd love to hear that story!
  • Both of my little girls got promoted to the next class in CommunityKids. Abby now has new take home stuff during the week to do. She wanted to read every devotional for the week all in one night plus memorize a big ole honkin' Bible verse. Had to slow the girl down a bit. But it was so cool to see her get excited about learning the Word.
  • I got to celebrate as one of my best friends turned 40. Bill, I'm so glad you talked me into that stinkin' youth minister's lunch all those years ago. Never would have imagined how much it changed both our lives, our families and our church.
  • I read this article this weekend about churches and race. No church is perfect but I pray CCC can continue to work at getting this right.
  • Skip Carey died and it breaks my heart. I don't think I've ever watched or listened to a Braves game when he wasn't the primary voice behind them. He was the soundtrack for my team. They'll never sound the same again.
