Weekend Update

  • I never get tired of Vision Days. If you weren't there and you call CCC home, you really need to download the message and hear it. Ed did a phenomenal job and made the challenge about as clear as it could be.
  • Slang is going to be an awesome series. Next Sunday we'll do the phrase "Church for the Rest of Us."
  • Love the new song "God of this City." That chorus has been in my head all day. "Greater things are yet to come." God, make it so!
  • As exciting as it is to be reignited with our mission, it always pains me when Ed reminds us of the real lives that are at stake and the fact that less than half of CCC is on board. If you're a Christ follower, we need you in the game!!! Nothing matters more than this. If you're planning on just "hanging out and consuming"...with all due respect, we'd rather have your empty chair.
  • My 5 year old daughter came out of children's ministry today and she was fired up and "on mission." She said - "Daddy, I need to invite a friend to church who's never come before." She's already compiling her list of "paper people"!!!!
  • I got a text message from Bill over at Madras after the service. He said it was an awesome day for them. Almost as exciting as opening day.
  • Getting ready to head out to the student ministry Turkey Olympics. Should be an interesting evening.
  • Watch your mailboxes this week. Our next postcard series is set to drop any day now. They'll definitely make some great conversation starters and some chances to make invitations to friends.
  • Are these the Falcons I'm watching?? They actually have a real quarterback. Doesn't look too much like a rookie to me.
  • The Dawgs are through with the "cupcake" section of the schedule. Bring on the real games!
