Weekend Update

• The Replenish project went great this weekend. Over 600 bags went out for the Coweta Co. Food Pantry and we connected with nearly 300 people. Here's a full report from Bill.
• We've just passed the halfway mark in our American Idol series and so far it's been awesome. Next week, we're talking about "What do you do when God says no?"
• My favorite line from Sunday: "I'm following the dead guy who came back to life. When you die and come back to life, then you can make the rules."
• Second favorite line: "We don't follow Jesus because we get something out of it. We follow Jesus because it's true. The resurrection actually happened."
• I've said it before but I love it when our band updates the old hymns. "It Is Well" was incredible and the video that set it up really made the song take on new life. 
• It seems like there's a baptism at CCC every week these days. I can't tell you how amazing that is. Reminds me of this scripture.
• One more thing we found out yesterday...CCC will even resort to using puppets for a good laugh. Was that just bizarre or what?
• There are two more AI auditions left for our staff. Guess who.
• Very excited about Easter Sunday and the week before. We've planned two services for those weeks that you definitely want to invite your unchurched friends to. Studies show that 82% of Easter invitations are accepted so the odds are in your favor!!
• Spent Sunday afternoon with my daughter Abby. She rarely gets one on one time with Daddy since her sister came along. Fuzziwig's Candy Store, Barnes & Noble and Starbucks hot chocolate. Pretty good way to spend a rainy afternoon. Plus...
• We had one of our most spiritual conversations ever. Parents, if you aren't talking to your kids about Jesus...do it!!!! It's amazing what my 5 year old already understands about the cross, redemption and the resurrection.
• I'll be busy this week finishing up two messages for our marriage series in May. It's called Marriage Landmines. We're dealing with the 3 big things that will blow up a marriage - money, sex & power. I get to do the sex message. Yippee.
