It's so easy to be smug when you read about how the Pharisees violated God's word with their traditions. Sometimes I look at those stories as if I don't do the same thing. But I think almost all of us who've done the church thing long enough fall into it a little. As I go throughout my life following Christ, I've noticed that He slowly has revealed to me the places where I've often been hypocritical. People I've condemned and excluded. Rules I've decided are important. All in the name of Christ. My hope is that as I continue to live with Him and become more conformed into His image, I constantly drop preferences and tendencies and traditions in favor of God's pure teaching in His word.
