I think most Christians in this country can't relate very well to psalms like this one. We don't spend a whole lot of time asking God how long until He reaches down and pulls us out of suffering. Because the fact is, we don't really go through much suffering. Not compared to the rest of the world. And as a result, we kind of like our lives. We'd much rather keep it the way it is. No need for God to meddle and fix much of anything. This is the mindset that explains a lot of the spiritual stagnancy that most of us have too.
