I recently read this story with my daughter and she was confused as to why Jesus would ask Peter if he loved Him three times. Her reaction when I explained it was so cool. I told her that Jesus was offering Peter three opportunities to affirm his love for Jesus after denying Him three times. And just like that, He gives us second and even third chances when we mess up. The message of grace is always exciting and still amazing.
