John 3

The first part of this chapter gets all the attention. But reading the second half today, it struck me how the disciples of John the Baptist reacted to Jesus' success in the beginning. John clearly identified Him as God's Son. If they trusted John so much, what prevented them from readily following Jesus as Messiah? Why did they sound disappointed that people were going to Jesus instead of them? Wasn't that the point? Gives you a little insight to how easily we can get off track and promote our agenda instead of Jesus'.
