It's only Friday and I can hardly stop my head from focusing on Sunday. This will be my first shot at delivering a message during the "Let's Talk About Sex" series and I'm so excited about what our teams have put together. I'm totally confident that the Holy Spirit will speak through our creative elements and His Word. I'll be talking specifically about the lies that Satan is telling both single and married people. We've got a powerful drama/song package along with 2 hilarious but "eye poking" videos to illustrate my message. And if you're wondering: Yes, Satan shows up this week in someone's bedroom! (Come to think of it, so does Ed.) So wipe that image out of your brain and spend the end of your week inviting a friend. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I also have the awesome privilege at the 10:30 service of baptizing one of my good friends and co-leader in small group, Tom Ferguson. You have no idea what an amazing thing this is. Tom moved into my neighborhood several years ago. He started attending CCC and has been seeking the truth about Jesus for about 2 years. And now he's not just my neighbor, friend and co-leader....he's my brother in Christ!!!! I hope to blog Tom's entire story next week sometime so check back.

Jason you did a great job! Very impassioned and I loved some of the
phrases and ideas you presented!
I want to ask a question that I think is very tough and something that is not addressed often at Church. Ed mentioned it briefly last week and I really have been thinking about it.
Where does Homosexuality stand? Ed called it a sin which I guess it is but it is a very difficult topic. I 've had gay people in my life (As friends and Acquaintances) and they are just not attracted to the opposite sex. No matter how much they are forced by families or friends they will not be "converted" to be straight.
If we are to preach to everyone
how are we to tell them the good news when they have been reviled and attacked for so long. Sometimes by the Church. I was attacked in elementary school when I was a kid because I wasn't as masculine as the other kids. I wasn't gay but the other kids called me names. One older kid actually burned me with a cigarette. Now this is for someone who is heterosexual and had a bad experience imagine being that kid your whole life! I can talk about Church to other people but I just cannot think of a way to open dialogs with gay people.
You raise an excellent question. I can tell you've thought a lot about it. Instead of rattling off a quick reply, I think I'll take some time and post some of my thoughts in a post sometime this week. So stay tuned for that. And thanks for the question and your encouragement!
