The other day a friend of mine was telling me about a conversation they'd had with a person they met for the first time. My friend found out that the person attended a church in our area other than CCC - a church that is experiencing a season of growth right now. My friend made the comment: "Oh, I hear that's a great church. They're really growing and reaching people, aren't they?" To which the person replied: "Yes, unfortunately. I like small churches. I just really wish things would stay the way they are."
Unfortunately, this is the perspective of many, many church people in the world today. It doesn't always come out in our words but it screams loud and clear through our actions. Another reason why we have to stay laser light focused on our mission to reach the 60,000 people in our community who unfortunately don't currently have a place where they can discover and know Jesus.
