Are All Religions The Same?

Last week, I posted the details for each service in our series God For Dummies. I mentioned a service coming up that neither you or your friends would want to miss. Well, the details have come together and we're finally able to announce them. On Sunday April 27 (which is a change from the original date I posted) we will be hosting a panel discussion of representatives from 4 major world religions - Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and Christianity. At all 5 services at both of our campuses, you will get to hear each religion answer basic questions about their faith. Questions like:
  1. Who is God?
  2. What sacred text do you follow and what is its message?
  3. How does someone get right with God?
  4. What happens after we die?
  5. Who is Jesus?
So many people in our world believe that all religions teach the same thing and it makes no difference what you believe. I think this service will go a long way in addressing that topic. Now, the goal here is not to debate the religions or to put down anyone's beliefs. I think you'll see what an amazing thing it can be when people from different perspectives can sit together and even disagree and do it in a spirit of love, dignity and respect. I also think you'll see how vastly different the religions are and why it really does matter that you seek out the truth and make a decision.

We talk about inviting friends who are far from God to CCC all the time. I can not tell you how vitally important this invitation could be. So let's get to it!!
