- It's been one of those days where you're constantly on the go and you're just ready to fall into bed at the end of it. But what a great day it's been.
- Today was a really special day for my family. To get into details would be way too personal. Let's just say I spent some special moments with some of the people I love the most. It was one of those times that you just thank God for being so good.
- All I've been hearing all day is "Awesome service today!!" And I agree. Our creative teams are so good and produce such moving moments with music, video and drama. It's a blessing and a privilege to deliver messages with that kind of support behind you. Makes my job so easy sometimes.
- One of the toughest parts of today's service for me was seeing the looks on peoples' faces as I described their "father images." There was so much pain in those faces and God just kept reminding me of how vital this service and this series really is.
- I made it to the Madras campus during their tear down today. There are some real heroes serving God over there. I got tired just watching them. But every single one had a smile on their face and a spring in their step. They give so much time and sweat and muscle to get that venue ready for unconnected people to come find their way back to God. I'm humbled every time I'm around them.
- Man, I can't wait for next Sunday. Please pray and invite this week.
- I'm still looking for suggestions for an upcoming message. Click here for more details and how you can help me out!

I would like the bible verse "an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" explained. (Sorry, I don't know where it is) I always thought that meant is was okay to get even with someone who had wronged you. But, after coming to church the past 8 months, I know Jesus would want me to be kind, reach out and love the person(s) who have wronged me and sometimes I struggle with this.
Thanks Jason,
Cindy Ridgeway
Actually I think what you are talking about is a law that Jesus denounced at some point. I think it originally came from Hammurabi's code (which if i remember correctly was the first written code of laws in a society). Jesus said (and I'm paraphrasing based on what I remember) "you've been told an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I come to tell you that if someone slaps you on the cheek you should turn the other towards him" or something like that. I think it came up when the Pharisees were trying to trick Jesus by asking him what was fair, but in typical Jesus fashion he played the “grace card” (come on that’s kind of funny…) and showed them that it wasn’t about being fair but about offering forgiveness to people who don't deserve it. But again this is just what I remember based on studying World History and reading the bible on a not-consistent-enough basis. Feel free to correct me anyone.
