Weekend Update

• I enjoyed talking to people on Sunday. Lots of folks commented about how the gossip message nailed them. I have to admit - it nailed me just as hard as anybody in the room. It's Monday morning and the staff is already calling each other on it when we get off track. This is hard!
• If you're working on getting the gossip thing under control this week, my advice...Take it slow. Don't beat yourself up about it. Old habits die hard. God will honor slow, steady progress. Celebrate the small successes and keep on working at it.
• I'm listening to Mike next door to my office rehearsing for Sunday. This is going to be an incredible service in terms of songs. From the prelude all the way through. You don't want to miss what we've got planned to wrap up Mouthwash.
• I had the keyboard riff from Dirty Laundry in my head all day Sunday.
• God reminded me on Sunday of how much I love to preach. He's also showing me recently how much of a responsibility I have to use the gifts He's given me. This verse in particular. I hope He's pleased.
• Don't forget to go to the CCC website and vote for your favorite topic for "You Asked For It." Vote as many times as you want. Get your topic on the schedule. And invite people who need to hear it. The first one is Aug. 31.
• I'm enjoying all of the comments I'm getting about the lottery offering guy. I especially liked Ed's response on his blog. He ain't jokin' folks!
• UGA is in the number one spot in the AP poll. Can't wait for the season to start!!
