Weekend Update

  • Never going to live down that Sling Blade video. Do me a favor, people. Please stop greeting me with "mmm hmmm"!!!!
  • Was I the only the one who loved the drama today? First of all, it was dang funny. Second, I enjoyed listening to people in every service try to figure out whether it was OK to laugh or not. I think we got the point across pretty well.
  • Great music today! We can do White Stripes songs every week as far as I'm concerned. That dude knows how to write a smokin' guitar riff.
  • Partied like it was 1985 Saturday night sportin' my new Def Leppard Tshirt! Don't ask.
  • My little girl turns 2 on Saturday. Unbelievable when I think about how far she's come. She was within days of heart failure in the womb and now she's running like a tornado through my house. I am so blessed.
  • I taught her another cool phrase. I ask her "Whose baby are you?" And she says "Daddy's baby!" It's the cutest thing you've ever heard.
  • I also taught her to say "Mommy's hot!" which is just stinkin' hilarious!
  • I think Mouthwash is going down as a CCC classic. A lot of us are going to be working on this one for a long time.
  • Can't wait to preach next Sunday on the reliability of the Bible. These "you asked for it" topics are going to get pretty interesting. Don't forget to vote and get your favorite on stage next.
  • Really looking forward to our next 4 week series, Slang. If you have any questions about who we are as a church, you won't after September's done.
  • Vision Sunday is September 7. Do not miss this service!! Lots of cool stuff planned and we'll tell you exactly where we are in our mission to reach the 60,000.
  • Got a busy week ahead finishing up 2 messages for October. I wish I could talk about that series but it just might make your head explode.
  • The Dawgs start the road to the national championship on Saturday!

The drama wouldn't be too funny if you had struggled with weight all your life like I have. It was really sad that that's all they could come up with.

Sorry you were offended. As Ed said, he struggles with weight also and he understood and thought it was funny.
