Weekend Update

  • Very tiring weekend for me. But I got to spend lots of time with family. Not to mention all the food. My family are experts in the art of good eatin'!!!
  • I got to play the role of service producer at Sharpsburg on Sunday and had a great time doing it. What is it about putting on a headset and telling a bunch of people what to do??
  • We're getting excited about the new series starting this Sunday. I'm expecting some of these topics to be very controversial. But that's a good thing. I think we're going to learn a lot together about being less "Christian" and more like Jesus.
  • This week's topic is "Christians are too hypocritical." I'm really pumped about the particular angle God gave me to address this topic. When I was writing the message, I got such a strong sense that this is what He would want me to say. I'm comparing 2 defining encounters Jesus had with sinful people. You'll see what I mean on Sunday. If you want to read ahead, click here and here.
  • Saturday night was tough. My Bulldogs took a hard one on the chin along with a ton of other ranked teams last week. That's what stinks about being in the SEC. Everybody beats up on one another in the regular season. But hope is not lost. I thought this article was an interesting take on the remainder of the season.
  • Scored some tickets to the UGA-Vandy game on October 17. It'll be my first trip to Sanford Stadium for a game. Can't wait.
  • This cracked me up!! Think I'll have to try it.
