Weekend Update

  • I haven't seen the numbers yet but it felt like our attendance was up at Sharpsburg. A lot more seats were filled up at 10:30.
  • Got lots of good comments about the topic. I was surprised at how many people said they needed to hear a reminder of their value in God's eyes.
  • Discontentment with ourselves is a huge deal. I think most of us spend a lot of time needlessly beating ourselves up. Yesterday convinced me of that.
  • Don't miss next week. Ed's going to talk to us about how to be content with your stuff. That one's just huge right now.
  • Frontline leaders meeting was Saturday. I'm always energized when I get to hang with the leaders who make CCC work.
  • Have you signed up to serve at the Thanksgiving meal? You can do that right now. Just click here. I've never met anyone who regretted rearranging their holiday to be a part of this event. Even if you don't serve, just come and eat.
  • I'm caught up with my message writing all the way through the end of the year. What an amazing feeling that is!!
  • We have a great series planned for December - "When Love Came To Town". We'll be celebrating the message of Christmas through the music of U2. It's gonna be awesome!
  • Our plans for Christmas Eve will surprise a lot of folks. I think it will be one of CCC's finest moments.
  • Dawgs struggled to beat Kentucky! Are you kidding me? This team is way too talented for that kind of crap. Our defense has almost disappeared.
  • Can't believe I'm saying this but I enjoy watching the Falcons more than the Dawgs the past few weeks.
  • The Braves are trying to sign Jake Peavy. That would be a much needed shot in the arm for our pitching rotation.

So will there be a "Sunday bloody Sunday" service? How about a "In the name of the Father" service?

Adam, you're thinking ahead. I like that. You'll have to wait and see. But I guarantee there will be much U2 music during the series that you won't soon forget.

The suspense is killing me.

Don't let it drive you to vertigo just because you still haven't found what you're looking for. Walk on. It's a beautiful day.
