Weekend Update

  • Sorry for the long blogging hiatus. It's been a busy couple of weeks.
  • After the holidays I found myself 3 weeks behind on my message writing schedule. I cranked out 2 last week. Now I'm only 1 week behind. I should be caught up by Friday.
  • Attendance looked great yesterday. Sharpsburg 10:30 is filling up again. I hear Madras had a great day too.
  • Almost nobody likes it when you talk about money but the reactions to the message yesterday were pretty good. I think it's something we're all a little concerned about these days. But remember...God specializes in setting people free.
  • I met a family who was here for their first time. I could hear their kids begging them to come back next week as they walked out to their car.
  • Really enjoyed performing another baptism and hearing another story of a life changed forever by Jesus.
  • Did you know that there's a small group at our church who has seen 3 of its members baptized in the past year??? Amazing!
  • This article gave me new sense of urgency to reach the 60,000.
  • Last week was a tough one for me in the sports world. 3 players from 2 of my teams are gone. Matthew Stafford, Knowshon Moreno, & John Smoltz.
  • It's the year of the underdog in the NFL. And I can't help it. I just love watching Kurt Warner.
