Weekend Update

• Right after preaching I got to drive over and enjoy a great lunch with the Madras campus and my parents. Happy birthday, Mom! 
  
• The best part was I kept running into people I'd never seen before. These are folks who might have never been reached if we hadn't gone multi-site. Thanks, God for the vision and the courageous people who bought into it.
• CCC Madras had a record breaking day! So proud of that team!
  
• It always cracks me up to meet people who say "I've only ever seen you on a big screen!!!"
• We got some incredible news about our 3rd campus last week. If I told you I'd have to kill you, though. (don't you love it when people do that?)
• CCC Sharpsburg started a new team called Volunteer Central yesterday and it was a successful start. Lots of people stepped up to serve and start going "All In."
• The message was hard to preach in parts. Sometimes the truth of God's word hurts. But it's always a good hurt.
• Lots of baptism buzz is going on these days. One at Sharpsburg Sunday. One at Madras (delayed). And several more in progress. There's nothing better than giving heaven another reason to party!!! (and hell another reason to cuss)
• Looking forward to the 2nd part of "All In" this week. The title of the message is "Be An Idiot." (How many times have you gotten advice like that??)
• February 22 is going to be one of our most popular questions in the "You Asked For It" series - Is Jesus the only way? Great chance to invite friends.
• Ed's doing an entire series in March about the difference between faith and hope. I think it's going to shock a lot of folks. Especially us Christians.
• Doing research right now for a message I'm preaching the Sunday before Easter titled "Why did Jesus have to die?" We're following it on Easter with "Why did Jesus rise from the dead?" Two more excellent invitation opportunities.
• I miss football already. (no, the Pro Bowl doesn't count as real football)
• But there is hope. Pitchers and catchers reported for spring training this week. One or two more player moves and I think my Braves will be in good shape. Anybody got a good outfielder?
• The only thing I have left to say is: Becky Clark is a rock goddess!!!!!
