Day 25

James 2

James makes everything so plain and simple, there's just not much you can say when you read his book other than: "I need to do that." It's shocking sometimes to me how American Christianity has strayed so far away from what he's talking about in this chapter. We lean so heavily on what people believe about God/Jesus/etc, thinking that's what really matters. And it does. But until our actions match what we believe, it's all just a waste. When most Christians say they want to grow in their faith, what they really mean is they want to know more or learn something new. But according to James, growing in your faith is mainly about doing something with what you already know or believe.
