The past few years I'm coming to understand more about the timeline of God and how He has worked throughout history to bring about the things He's promised. It's been 2000 years since Jesus resurrected and He still hasn't returned. But if you read the Bible, there were long stretches of time when God was silent. Long amounts of time between when God would act in miraculous ways. It took 400 years just to get His chosen nation in and out of slavery. Hundreds of years between the times when God would speak directly to a person. So to think that He's running behind on His promises just shows that we don't understand God. This chapter reminds me of that. I am simply living in a small window of time. God sees all of history at once and it's like a tick off the clock to Him.
