I think no other event after the resurrection gives more validity to Jesus than the conversion of Saul. How do you go from murdering Christians trying to stamp out the faith to the greatest missionary ever? How do you change from a murderer and torturer to a man of peace who will be tortured and killed yourself for the faith you once hated? There's no other explanation. Saul had a relationship with the risen Christ. I also love what his life says to the church (especially ours). Nobody is too far gone to come back to Jesus. And not just come back but be used by God for amazing things. No perfect people allowed.
