Day 106

Psalm 41

David's cries to God about feeling alone and betrayed by everyone around him reminded me of a few things today. It reminded me of the security Christ followers have that we're never really left alone and betrayed. Even if every single person on the planet turned against us, we're not abandoned. Even when I'm alone, He is with me. And that truth is rock solid for all eternity. Another thing: Verse 10 reminded me that sometimes the writers of scripture say things that aren't right and God left those in His word for us for a reason. David wants to be well again so he can get revenge on his enemies. It's obvious from the context of the Bible that for us to take revenge is sin. But David still wants it and God still lets it get published. That's comforting to me. It reminds me of God's patience with us even when we're slow to come around to what He wants us to do and how He wants us to respond.
