- Haven't had much time to blog this week. Looks like there'll be 2 weekend updates back to back. I'll try to do better next week.
- I got to serve this morning on the sound team. I don't know why but I absolutely love sitting behind the board mixing sound. I guess it's the whole guy thing and liking to push buttons and play with electronic gadgets.
- I love to hear the evidence behind God and creation like Ed did so well today. It always reminds me why my faith is well placed. Great job by our video team with those images that ended the service today.
- Spent the afternoon at Turner Field watching the Braves score 14 runs. If you like offense, it was an awesome game to watch. Thanks to my dad I got a free "all you can eat" seat. Whoever came up with that concept should have a statue in their honor or at least a holiday.
- The total damage I did at the game? 3 hot dogs, 1 burger, fries, 3 cokes, a frozen lemonade, half a bag of peanuts and I got a sunburn to go with it. I will be starting a new diet tomorrow.
- Friday night I took my stunningly beautiful bride to the prom. Actually we helped chaperone for the high school where she teaches. Great dinner with some friends and I had the hottest date in the room!! Am I just getting old or are proms these days getting wilder??
- Sunday evening I hung out for a while at the CCC Madras picnic. I appreciate them letting me crash the party. I met a lady and her husband who said to me: "I've never actually seen you face to face, but I have to tell you I really enjoy your sermons." Driving home God just spoke to me about how truly amazing it is when the church reaches out into new places and expands to affect more lives. The multisite vision has nothing to do with us. It's all about the 60,000 who still haven't heard the good news.
- Get ready. Next Sunday we bring back the comedy for our new series "Mama and Them." We've got a game for some audience members to play in honor of Mother's Day. I think it's going to be hilarious. You guys can be the final judge on that.
- That's right. Mother's Day is 7 days away. That means most of you fellas will need to go shopping in about 6 1/2 days.
- I'm almost finished with my Top 10 sermon. I'm really looking forward to it, but this is really hard work. It's like writing 3 times more than a normal message with 10 completely different topics. It's taking me forever!
