- Good service yesterday. We're still in the summer slump as far as attendance and people taking vacations. I can't wait for everything to get back to normal.
- I was really nervous about how the scripture video was going to be received. I know it was a real stretch for some people to sit and focus for that long. But I heard about a lot of folks that God spoke to and they were challenged and moved by His word. I was glad we did it.
- Speaking of the "scripture video," I'd love to know how you thought it went. Hit the comment button and share your thoughts.
- I remembered another great online resource for Bible reading that I didn't have time to mention in my message. YouVersion.com is a great way to read the Bible, journal about what God is saying to you and also view other people's as well. There's content attached to verses like videos, devotionals, pictures, sermons, etc. that enhance your Bible reading. You can even keep a private journal and re-read it each time you come back to a particular verse. And it's all free!
- The other link I mentioned is BibleGateway.com in case you missed it.
- My wife and kids are out of town this week visiting family. The house is so quiet!! I miss them already.
- Went to Hype United Sunday night and ran video for them. Our set up at Madras looks and sounds so good. And I saw one of the most hilarious dramas I've ever seen. Andrew Marshall in a diaper.......classic!!!!!
- A very generous guy from our church walked up after the service and gave me 4 seats to Tuesday's Braves game. Thanks, Jay!!!
- I'm up again to preach this coming Sunday. The topic is talking to God and listening for His voice as a way to stay "in the groove." I think it's a highly overlooked discipline in the life of most Christ followers. God can actually speak to you all throughout your day if you're just tuned in to listen. Looking forward to how this service is going to go.
- I saw the new M. Night Shyamalan movie The Happening this weekend. I'm a huge fan of his movies but this one stunk so bad I can't even begin to describe it!
