Weekend Update

  • What a treat! I got home from church today and the Wimbledon finals were still going. They're in the 2nd rain delay of what is turning into one of the best tennis matches I've ever seen.
  • Really enjoyed preaching again today. I expected it to be a tough subject for folks to swallow but everybody was really into it.
  • Jeremy did an awesome job leading worship today at Sharpsburg.
  • Best news of the week: We heard from Bill Coffman today that CCC Madras will soon be having their very first baptisms!!!
  • Most shocking news of the week: Jeff Francoeur got sent to the minors. (on 2nd thought, with the way he was hitting...not that shocking) I hope he gets his swing back on track, though. I'm rooting for him.
  • My family had a great 4th of July. Had some friends over for bratwurst on the grill. Then I took Abby for some fireworks at Newnan High. Even ran into some kids from back when I used to be youth minister at CCC. One of them reads the blog! (Hi, Beth)
  • Looking forward to some time off this week. We're headed out of town with the Coffman clan. 6 kids on the beach. Should be a wild trip!
  • I got one of greatest compliments after church today. Someone told me, "Whenever you talk about your wife, your eyes sparkle." Why is that a compliment? Because I've always wanted to be the kind of husband that when everyone saw me, they would realize what an incredible woman I married and how crazy in love I am with her.
  • Correction: I just watched THE best tennis match I've ever seen.

Jason, You are right, that was THE best tennis match. It would have been even better if Federer could have pulled it out!

You're right, Lynn. I started the match pulling for Nadal but the more Federer kept making his comeback, the more I wanted to see him win.

Beth, glad I was able to make someone's day!!

Now I'm so excited that I just blogged back for the very first time and it worked!!!!! You know, being older, technology is trying to pass me by.
